Candidates from Page Sought to Run for School Board Seats

There are two districts in the Page area with open school board seats to be filled on Election Day, Nov. 8. These seats are open due to current board member terms ending this year.

Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Risha VanderWey encourages residents to get involved in local education by becoming volunteer school board members.

Eligibility for Serving on a School Governing Board: Candidates must be Arizona registered voters and residents of the school district for at least one year prior to the Nov. 8 Election Day. Candidates or their spouses may not be an employee of the district.

Candidate Process: To become a candidate one must first submit a completed $500 Threshold Exemption form. The filing of the exemption form can be done at any time, but must be done before obtaining any petition signatures or doing any other campaign related tasks. Once filed you will receive a committee ID #. Candidate petitions and a nomination paper must be turned in no earlier than July 11 through August 10 by 5 p.m.

Nomination packets can be mailed or picked up at the Coconino County Superintendent of Schools at 2384 N. Steves Blvd., Flagstaff, AZ 86004, inside the Ponderosa High School building.
